How it works

How does Sol-vo work?

A simple, safe process for homeowner and contractor alike. Four steps to payment certainty.

1

Set up the project

Homeowner

Your contractor invites you. You review the milestones and amounts and give your approval.

Contractor

Set up the project with milestones and amounts, and invite your homeowner.

2

Deposit the funds

Homeowner

Deposit the milestone amount into the government-held account. Sol-vo confirms as soon as it arrives.

Contractor

Your dashboard shows that the funds have been deposited. Now you know for sure you can start.

3

Do the work and submit

Homeowner

You get a notification as soon as the contractor completes a milestone.

Contractor

Complete the milestone and submit it with a photo or document as proof.

Approve or reject

Homeowner

Review the work and approve within 10 working days, or reject it with a reason.

Contractor

If the homeowner approves, payment follows immediately. If they reject, you look for a solution together.

Frequently asked questions

The money sits in a third-party account with the Deposit and Consignment Office (DCK/CDC), the Belgian federal government's fund. Sol-vo is not a bank and does not hold your money itself — it is held separately by the government.
